About Felixstowe and District
Felixstowe is an attractive seaside town which was established as a noted resort in the Late 19th Century. The wonderful Spa Gardens adjoin the level promenade beside the Spa Pavilion Theatre which started life in the Early 20th Century as a bandstand and flower hall.
Known as the Garden Resort of the East Coast, Felixstowe's sand and shingle beaches stretch for over four miles, its interesting coastline with colourful beach huts and delightful walks.
At the far western end of Felixstowe lies the Landguard peninsula with Landguard Fort and Felixstowe Museum and an established nature reserve. There is also a view point area where container ships and cruise liners can be seen entering and leaving the Ports of Harwich and Felixstowe. The Port of Felixstowe is the largest container port in the United Kingdom.
